Humorous novel about an upper crust girl's school, by the wife of Patrick Dennis of "Aunite Mame" fame. Raised in a "Social Register" household in Manhattan's Upper East Side, Tanner attended Miss Chapin's finishing school, and graduated from Vassar in 1944. In her senior year, her talent was confirmed by winning Vogue magazine's Prix de Paris, putting her in the league of Sylvia Plath, Joan Didion and Jacqueline Bouvier. Early in her career, she worked at Good Housekeeping magazine and Franklin Spier's advertising agency which specialized in book promotion.
